The Music
Music was always going to be a big part of our day. From the string quartet to the bandaoke, we spent a lot of time curating the soundtrack to our day, but there were also a few unexpected musical surprises along the way...
Verity-Belle.
For Verity’s birthday last year, I knew I had to do something special, and so I set about writing and recording a very special birthday song.
What most people didn’t know at the time was that we had actually gotten engaged the day before. That video, disguised as a birthday surprise, became our way of announcing the beginning of our next chapter to our friends and family.
She’s the one.
Of course, I wasn’t the only one who wanted to surprise Verity with a song.
Her singing students had been dreaming of performing at her wedding for years—and when her Stagecoach team reached out to plan something special, I knew exactly how we could make it happen.
In the final weeks of term, the Stagecoach Bridgend and Cowbridge Performance Troupe quietly got to work, secretly recording a beautiful cover of Robbie Williams’ She’s The One. The entire arrangement and recording were put together by former student Nathanael Stinton.
I put together a video to match the song and, at the end of my speech, surprised Verity with it.
A moment we’ll never forget—made possible by a community of young performers she’s helped inspire.
Jon Green.
Just when we thought the speeches were over we were treated to the best wedding gift I could have imagined. A song written and recorded by all my friends.
Who needs a best man speech anyway? Feast your ears on the best song ever written.
The Playlists
Of course, the playlist is an essential part of any wedding, so we put together three playlists to help soundtrack the day, each with its own vibe and moment. From the songs that played as guests arrived, to the tunes that filled the dance floor late into the night, these playlists capture the mood, the memories, and a few inside jokes along the way. Listen and enjoy on Spotify below.
